Humeyra Orucu is a research scholar at Boston College. She received her master’s degree in physics from Ege University, in Turkey,  in 2004.  She is a Ph.D student and research assistant at the physics department of Ege University. She is studying luminescence spectroscopy of crystals, particularly Chromium-doped oxide and fluoride Crystals.

            She enjoys reading, traveling, and painting. She also enjoys sports especially volleyball.
