1. 3 September: Welcome to the class!.
a. You should begin reading Chapters 1 and 2 in our
textbook, “Physics, Vol. 1”, by Halliday Resnick, and Krane (see course
syllabus)
b. Please make sure you are also enrolled in the
concurrent laboratory course, PH203. This is not automatically included in your
class registration.
2. 1 September: Homework Assignment #1 has been posted.
3. Exam #1
is scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd in class. It will cover Chapters 2 – 6. You may bring an 8-1/2”x11” study sheet (both sides
may be written on). This sheet can contain equations, integrals and other
mathematical relations, and numerical constants. No EXPLANATIONS, DEFINITIONS,
WORKED-OUT PROBLEMS, FIGURES ARE ALLOWED, as discussed in class. If you have
any questions, see me.
