The proximity of antiferromagnetism and superconductivity in the phase diagram common to many unconventional superconductors has long suggested an interesting interplay between antiferromagnetism (AF) and superconductivity. Does some form of AF or AF fluctuations coexist with superconductivity deep in the superconducting state especially in the regions where superconductivity is weakened, as is the case in the vortex cores? Many theories have suggested that antiferromagnetism or spin density waves can be established in the cores of vortices and coexist with superconductivity. Recent experiments seem to confirm these ideas. Theoretical predictions for the existence of the vortex core magnetism and recent experimental evidence will be discussed. In particular, discussion will focus on evidence from NMR experiments.
