Prof. Padilla lab reports on metamaterials' properties with promising new applications

April 15, 2008

A research team led by Assistant Professor Willie J. Padilla reports in Nature Photonics that it engineered a frequency-agile metamaterial that would extend the spectral range over which devices function. The design advance could lead to hyperspectral-imaging devices capable of measuring the electromagnetic “fingerprints” of a range of materials.
