A titanium-sapphire laser

A titanium-sapphire laser is pumped with a 532nm diode laser to produce 400mW of 15fs 800nm pulses. These optical transients are used to generate electromagnetic radiation and utilized for terahertz time domain spectroscopy and optical pump terahertz probe spectroscopy.

Padilla's Fourier Transform Spectroscopy Lab

Measurement capabilities span over 5 decades in frequency continuously from microwave to ultraviolet wavelengths and from liquid helium temperatures to over 500K in both reflectance and transmission geometries. Spectrometer may be coupled to a superconducting high field magnet for magneto-optical measurements to 9 T.
