Kevin Bedell, John H. Rourke Professor of Physics, named Vice Provost for Research

Kevin Bedell, Rourke Professor of Physics and Chair of the Department of Physics, has been appointed Vice Provost for Research by Cutberto Garza, Provost and Dean of Faculties.  Professor Bedell will assume his new post on October 1, 2006.  Although he will relinquish his chairmanship of Physics, Professor Bedell will remain a faculty member and continue to contribute to the department through research and graduate student advising.  We in Physics join the Boston College community as we wish Kevin success in his new role.  His will not be an easy job but, as those most familiar with what Kevin is capable of doing, we know he can and will succeed.  Congratulations, Kevin.
